In this context, the necessary documents were prepared in English, the application was made, the process was followed and the necessary approvals were obtained for the UN Global Compact principles and WEPs principles to be signed jointly with the Orange Association officials.

Within the scope of the 2018 International Year of Troy, OPET was enabled to tell about the renovation works it carried out in the Troy Region, which stands out with its historical, mythological, cultural and natural beauties, in the presence of UNESCO.

The “2018 International Year of Troy” conference, held at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, was hosted by T.C. It was hosted and moderated by its Permanent Representative, Ambassador Ahmet Altay Cengizer, and Nurten Öztürk, Founding Member of the OPET Board of Directors, took part as an invited speaker.

An opportunity was created for the promotion of the “Turkey Money Box for Van” project, implemented by Turkcell in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Transport and the Turkish Education Foundation, under the umbrella of the United Nations.

Turkcell’s project was shown as an example to the world among developing countries by the United Nations Development Program and became the first and only project to receive recognition from Turkey by UNDP. Turkcell has become the technology partner of the United Nations in the world.
